Life in the slow lane: The other side of me

It's at this point I would like to share with you about my other blog http://august-raine.blogspot.com/ which is about my Art work and photography. Why am I bringing this up in my holiday blog? Well, during the holiday given that I do follow my intuition and that meditation is part of my life, it stands to reason that at some point visions/imagery will emerge in my mind. so even though, we are on holiday my mediation creativity is still 'in tune' with me. To those who know me - were these similar to my well known 'green pixie readings'? Well, not entirely.

It should be pointed out on our journey that we did not have any Internet connection nor did we access it until the end of our holiday, when we needed to do our-web check in. Even our mobile phone was purely a mobile phone, which intermittently worked depending on the area we were in. The only other piece of technology we had was a camera.

My first such vision was whilst we were camped at Burleigh Heads tourist park and had slowly awoken from our 'catch-up' sleep. In that small moment of being still attached to my sub-conscious and becoming more conscious my mind started seeing something quite amazing - a transformational Totem. I started explaining this -transformational Totem to Raine and as I did I weaved my hands in various positions. This would eventually be transformed itself, into a painting, maybe even a wood carving and now the thought of a transformational movie. For now it remains - rough sketched on paper.

The Transformational Totem

The information received during this vision/imagery has not been verified and possible may never be, however, it has been taken as given.

Raine asked me, "why was I being shown this transformational Totem? What was its purpose?"

The information provided explained the transformational Totems as depicting various stages in our lives - each Totem contains 8 individual animal totems and that most would transform also through 8 full transformational Totems  equalling 64 individual animal totems. It was not clear what happened once you had evolved through all 8 what would happen next.

It was stated that whilst you may receive the same animal totem at different times in your life, this did not always mean you were repeating stages at the same level more that you were repeating that stage at a progressed level with a new learning experience.

For some it did mean they were repeating that stage, the interpretation of the animal totems were dependent on a number of factor's but most importantly how the individual animal totems related to the other in a developing transformational totem and a complete transformational totem.

In effect it's like reading Tarot cards - individual Tarot cards may have very specific meanings but when read in line with the other cards dealt then it's specific meaning become intuitive and fluid depending on the other cards in the spread

The Eagle starts with its wings folded around its main trunk in protective solitude mode (Eagle Protective). Almost like it is resting, gathering strength. this is referred to as the rebirth stage of the Totem. This shows a moving on from a previous stage and complete transformational totem to new challenges with a need to collect ones thoughts, gather physical and mental strength and re-charge before the journey begins in earnest.

The Eagle moves on to open wings (Eagle Open Freedom). This is an opening up in readiness to welcome new challenges, fully prepared and willing to take on what is given. The opportunity to literally spread one's wings further and seek out a different path or find new ventures.

The Eagle with the wings folded towards sunset (Transformational Eagle Folded Sky). It is unusual to see an Eagle in this position unless they have been harmed and are about to die. Transformation is a way of dying to the old self and awakening the new self. Here the Eagle is wiling to sacrifice itself for something different a complete change and to be open to whatever it has surrendered to.

The Cobra in the 'on guard' position (Cobra Transformed). When a Cobra is 'on guard' it is very aware of it's surroundings, heightened by that awareness and sensitive to the slightest of movements. Through becoming transformed your awareness is sharpened and tests new adventures and discoveries before accepting them as so.

The Cobra with frilled neck fanned out in full (Cobra Seeking). Here the Cobra is warning others that danger awaits them if the invade its personal space. It moves precisely and carefully all the time seeking out what it desires the most. Others seeing this Cobra in full frill are stunned by its ferocious presence and also move slowly to avoid being bitten always keeping their glare on the snake to avoid it's strike. It's not that the Cobra is a being aggressive, it's about perception by the viewer and what is projected in their mind about the Cobra. Perceptions can be clouded by so many things.

The Cobra coiled in retreat (Cobra Retreated). Now the Cobra has had enough of playing the cat and mouse games and decides to retreat, to conserve its energy and coils down remaining with its head out to seize the moment for moving out the way of any oncoming danger or threat to it. When we retreat, to gather strength, to conserve energy, to move on from the past and look to pastures new we do so when we believe life has thrown too much at us and all our resources are weakened.

The Crab on haunches (Crab Defensive Awareness). The Crab on haunches allows it to move and avoid lower dangers. When a crab moves along the shoreline it is at its most dangerous point ready for ripe picking from its predators. Emerging from a retreat we are still fragile and place protective armour around us until we trust what we feel is right again. Only those who enter via the underbelly know that this is the way to the heart and a softening of the outer shell, however the path to the underbelly is precarious as though pinching claws can give a nasty bite.

So this was the 7 stages of Raine's current Transformational Totem.

I also wrote a small poem ...

Together we weave like the vines of the Olive Trees
As individuals we bring our truths
We are neither two as one or individuals in togetherness
We are ... quite simply ...
Us.

(updated 23 December 2010)

I have now painted the transformational Totem painting based on the vision i had a Burleigh Heads Tourist park ...

Raine's Transformational Totem

The next vision/imagery happened at Byron Bay - in fact there were two ...

Will continue with the visions/imagery once the paintings have been produced
